THE AMAZON CONSERVATION TEAM

Strengthening traditional communities toward the conservation of the environment.

The Amazon Conservation Team (ACT), established in 1996, is an NGO created with the conviction that to develop effective environmental conservation strategies, it is essential to work with the indigenous communities that best know the environment in which they live. With the guidance of traditional indigenous authorities and professionals focused on the conservation of natural resources, ACT has successfully implemented an innovative approach to biological and cultural conservation.

ACT develops specific activities of conservation in the countries of Brazil, Suriname and Colombia, working in partnership with traditional communities that are the longtime caretakers of their environments.
