In recent years, ACT Colombia has sought to integrate traditional knowledge and western approaches for the protection of the environment and for the promotion of sustainable development for the traditional peoples of the Amazon. ACT has focused on protecting traditional indigenous territories and farmers’ lands, a key to maintaining biological and cultural diversity of the Amazon, by conducting projects that promote environmental and cultural conservation.
